Moments at Schneider Hall

About

Schneider Hall

A Place Where History and Celebration Meet

Tucked along Highway 71 just outside Columbus, Texas, Schneider Hall has been a gathering place for laughter, music, and memories since the 1930s. Built by the Schneider brothers—Fred, Jim, Willie, and Jake—the hall was once home to regular community dances, weddings, and the famous 1939 Farmers League Rally Day that brought more than a thousand people through its doors.

Through the years, the hall saw its fair share of stories. Dances filled the weekends, parties carried into the night, and neighbors came together under the same wooden beams that still stand today.

From Dancehall to Dream Venue

After the music faded and the doors closed in 1942, the hall stood quietly for decades, used mostly for hay storage—until love brought it back to life. In 2009, the Burris family began restoring Schneider Hall for their daughter’s wedding, taking care to preserve every bit of its character. Old wood was reused wherever possible, the original charm was kept intact, and modern comforts like water and electricity were added with a light touch.

The restoration wrapped up in 2010, and since then, the hall has once again become a place for joyful gatherings and heartfelt celebrations—just as it was meant to be.

A Texas Treasure for Today’s Bride

Schneider Hall isn’t your typical wedding venue—and that’s exactly why couples love it. It’s a space that feels lived-in and loved. The kind of place where you can laugh, dance barefoot, and feel like time slowed down just for you.

From the glow of string lights over the dance floor to the shade of the old live oak tree out front, every inch of the property carries a story. When you choose Schneider Hall, your story becomes part of its history.
